This is a Turk-centric side-story for the Feral-verse -- again, a draft so please excuse the rough spots. This fic hopefully provides some interesting insights into the ferals. I'll get back to the main story, I swear, if I manage to keep my hands off of Crisis Core. ::sadly addicted to doing missions:: ^_^;;
But seriously, the more I see of Sane!Sephiroth in CC, the more squee-worthy he becomes!

Here I was, frantically trying to come up with an idea for my "Rufus and Turks" claim of the ![[info]](http://www.insanejournal.com/img/community.gif) roads_diverged challenge -- yes, I'm cutting it way too close, it being due just after Thanksgiving -- when I came to the realization that I'm a horrible, sadistic, E-VIL(tm) person....
FVII cast: So what's new about that?
Hydra: Hehehehehe....
FVII cast: O_o
Hydra: Oooh Cloud, dear? I've been plotting... emmm, thinking....
Cloud: But why me? Aren't you doing enough to me already!? ::whimper::
Hydra: Sorry, it was a choice between you and Rufus. And since someone else has already claimed you for the challenge, that means Rufus, basically by default, gets to be the main focus and protagonist of my challenge fic. ^__^
Rufus: ::sarcastically:: What an enthusiastic endorsement.
Cloud: ::whine:: But why not pick on Sephiroth!? He's got lots of practice in this sort of role!
Sephiroth: ::betrayed and wounded look:: Keep me out of this mess.
Hydra: True, but the whole purpose of this AU challenge is to put a different twist on things....
Cloud: ::muttering under breath:: Like you haven't been doing this all along in every one of your damn fics?
Hydra: Did you say something?
Cloud: ::guilty twitch::
Hydra: Anyway, this setup fits the source material for the crossover much better.
Zack: ::worried:: But hell, it's going to be dark and nasty!
Hydra: ::pats the Zack:: Yes, I know, but it really can't be helped in that regard. I'll make it up to you guys with warm fuzzies -- or would it be 'warm furries'? -- in Feral-verse.
Cloud: Why does Zack the one to get comforted and petted? He's not even going to BE in this fic! ::sulk::
Hydra: Habit, I suppose. Besides, Zacks aren't meant to be depressed and morose. Post-Nibelheim Clouds, on the other hand... well, I guess I'm just too used to seeing them that way.
Turks: ::reading source material:: Uh-oh... considering what happens to the buddies of the protagonist in the other series, this doesn't look good for us. NOT. AT. ALL.
Elena: I really don't want to end up as a charred bloody skeleton....
Rude: ....
Hydra: Unlike the source material, I'll do my best to keep you guys alive, intact, and sane. Really, I will.

Talk about psycho plotbunnies taking up residence in one's brain due to massive overwork....
.... how about Aeris in a corset, skintight black pants, and stiletto boot heels doing a much, MUCH better solo version of Britney Spears' 2007 VMA "Gimme More" dance. As a private show just for her boys, of course....

Now how's THAT for an interesting use of the SOLDIERs Danger Room/Holodeck training room, eh? And since plotbunnies care nothing and know nothing about quasi-rational plausibility, we'll totally ignore little details like how insanely reckless and stupid it would be for Aeris to sneak into Shinra's military headquarters to do this, how hard it would be to program a such scenerio without some unwanted person finding out, etc.
Although you just know that Zack would be yelling all sorts of encouragement and appreciation. Cloud would be totally red-faced and "Oh my god...." in a mixture of shock and awe.
As for poor Sephiroth... I wonder what he would do if Aeris started doing an 'up close and personal' lapdance segment for him.

Okay, new part of Contagion is up, for what it's worth. ::mumble::
I want to give you guys fair warning that this part is INCREDIBLY raw. I mean that seriously -- Cid may be hopelessly OOC, Tifa probably comes off too much bitchy, among other problems.
However, I'm going to go ahead and post this part 'as-is' because if I don't, I'll keep working on it instead of doing some very necessary stuff at work. So I'm telling you guys in advance that this part will probably be substantially reworked when I get some free time. -_-
Naturally, any comments and suggestions would be deeply appreciated.
For those Zack-wibblers out there -- myself included, damn you, Squeenix! for tearing our guts out! -- I'm sorry about the lack of Zack in this part. But never fear. You'll see much more of him in the next few parts. ^_-
Go. Take it away. I'm exhausted, my brain hurts, and I've got too much damn Real Life(tm) stuff to do in the next 48 hours. x_x

I think it's a fitting way to start of this new journal with a snarly rant. :: S N A R L ::
Friday morning, my cable AND internet were working just fine. When I return in the afternoon, I've no cable and no internet.
Now, I live in an large apartment building and from previous experience, I can practically guarantee what the trouble is -- some cable service doofus has managed to carelessly disconnect all my cable-related service while working on the main cable box in the building (or floor).
So when I call customer service, I tell them exactly that and ask them to have someone to check it out. I mean, it's a big apartment complex and it's practically guaranteed that at least ONE cable service guy would be around on the same day, or at least the very next day. And how hard can it be to tell that guy to check the main cable box if Customer X hasn't gotten accidentally disconnected?
But noooooo... I have to set up a regular appointment and wait TWO days, just so I can have a cable service technician take one look, then tell me "Oopsie, it looks like one of our other guys accidentally disconnected you."
BTW, this is the second time this has happened in the last three months.
